Having qualified from Manchester University in 1974, with honours, I followed a mainly surgical pathway gaining my Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1980.
That same year Philip and I were married and I decided to alter my career pathway away from the nights of being on call for facial traumas to pursue the speciality of Restorative Dentistry. I worked as Lecturer/ Senior Registrar in Sheffield and Manchester Dental Hospitals. In 1983, full of energy, ambition and enthusiasm, Philip and I had the opportunity of buying 415 Stockport Road and setting up our very own dental practice from scratch.
Mid 1986, whilst expecting our daughter, Dominique, I completed my MSc thesis on tooth coloured fillings.
My special interest is dental implantology. My surgical background allows me to be one of the few practitioners who actually place the implants as well as restoring them. My patients benefit greatly from this as the whole procedure can be done 'in-house'.
Away from the practice, I'm a normal, busy Mum and Wife. In an effort to improve my level of fitness I have joined a golf club in order to learn to play, but my biggest handicap is myself! I enjoy walking and am a member of a fitness club where I have been spotted on rare occasions!"
