Joyce Brown

Oral Health Educator

I am a registered/Qualified Dental Nurse for 15 years, Qualified Sedation nurse for 11 years and Oral health Adviser.
The role of a Oral health adviser is to tailor specific oral health produres to your needs and lifestyle and to help you maintain an excellent standard of oral hygiene before your teeth are cleaned or scaled by the hygienist.
A visit to me consists of a saliva test ,this involves a sample of live plaque being taken from the patient with an interdental brush, placed on a slide then examined under a microscope to identify levels of bacteria. I also give advice and introduce new preventative techniques and educate our patients on how to reduce the need for dental treatment.
Patients feed back/comments are that they find this visit very helpful and interesting.
