Dr. Philip Parsons
Dental
Practitioner
GDC No. 518210

"I
qualified from Sheffield University in 1978, followed by a house officer
post and part time tutor in oral surgery. I now have over 20 years
experience in general dental practice. In 1983 I set up this practice
with my wife Brenda Finnegan, with the aim of providing an excellent
standard of dental care in a relaxing, friendly environment.
I have a special
interest in cosmetic dentistry, prevention of dental disease and
sympathetic treatment of anxious patients. I'm a life member of
S.A.A.D (Society of Advanced Anaethesia in Dentistry) with over
20 years experience with intravenous sedation. I completed a one
year advanced restorative course and in 1998 I gained my Diploma
in General Dental Practice (D.G.D.P. (UK)) from the Royal College
of Surgeons of England. In 2002 I completed a one year advanced
Implant restorative course.
Away from the
surgery, I am kept in order by my teenage daughter, Dominique. My
hobbies and interest are centred around the family and we enjoy
walking, golf, swimming and gardening"

"I'm the
other half of the partnership, business and matrimonial!
Having qualified
from Manchester University in 1974, with honours, I followed a mainly
surgical pathway gaining my Fellowship from the Royal College of
Surgeons of England in 1980.
That same year
Philip and I were married and I decided to alter my career pathway
away from the nights of being on call for facial traumas to pursue
the speciality of Restorative Dentistry. I worked as Lecturer/ Senior
Registrar in Sheffield and Manchester Dental Hospitals. In 1983,
full of energy, ambition and enthusiasm, Philip and I had the opportunity
of buying 415 Stockport Road and setting up our very own dental
practice from scratch.
Mid 1986, whilst
expecting our daughter, Dominique, I completed my MSc thesis on
tooth coloured fillings.
My special interest
is dental implantology. My surgical background allows me to be one
of the few practitioners who actually place the implants as well
as restoring them. My patients benefit greatly from this as the
whole procedure can be done 'in-house'.
Away from the
practice, I'm a normal, busy Mum and Wife. In an effort to improve
my level of fitness I have joined a golf club in order to learn
to play, but my biggest handicap is myself! I enjoy walking and
am a member of a fitness club where I have been spotted on rare
occasions!

" I joined
the Team in March 2005, having worked locally for four years doing
private dentistry in Altrincham, Cheshire.
I qualified
in 1996 from the University Dental Hospital of Manchester and went
on to complete my Vocational Training in Derbyshire. I went back
to the University to take up a part time post as Lecturer and Clinical
Teacher in Restorative Dentistry, spending the rest of my time working
with patients in General Practice.
After five years
I changed posts to work full time doing private dentistry in Altrincham.
During the four years in Altrincham I progressed to Senior Dentist
and then Dental Business Manager within the business which gave
me a lot of experience in the management of a General Practice.
I am a member
of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP) at the Royal College
of Surgeons of England and I am studying to become a joint member
of the FGDP and the Faculty of Dental Surgery (FDS).
I have completed
advanced training in restorative aesthetic dentistry with Dr Paul
Tipton, who is recognised as an international expert in the field
of aesthetic dentistry and who recently was voted as one of the
most influential dentists in the UK.
My special interest
is in Restorative Dentistry, focusing on aesthetic (cosmetic) treatments
and smile rehabilitation using the latest ceramic technology.
I am married
to Katy and have two sons and a daughter, Ethan who is five, our
Angel, Sam, and Charlotte who is two years old. I like to play with
computers and fly with BA Virtual, play golf with varied success
and cook when I get the chance, which is not as often as I'd like."
